JOB DESCRIPTION: Location: Milan, Italy - On-site presence required 4 days per week Department: AlinIQ Product R&D, Abbott Core Diagnostics Abbott is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests for our informatics products. You’ll work in an Agile Scrum environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role involves building and maintaining automation tools, performing test case analysis, and supporting product releases and audits. Key Responsibilities Design and execute manual and automated tests for server, web, and cloud-based applications. Develop test cases for black/white box testing and continuous integration. Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and document findings. Collaborate with developers, QA, and analysts to ensure test coverage and compliance. Support audits and product re-certifications. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 2+ years in software development or testing. Knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies, and at least one OOP language. Experience with test case management tools. Fluent in English. Preferred Skills Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Oracle/PostgreSQL databases. JIRA, Jenkins, GitHub, Agile/Scrum. Healthcare standards (ASTM, HL7) and quality processes.
