Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand functional requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.

Design and execute functional test cases, both manual and automated, ensuring comprehensive coverage of business workflows. Perform API testing and backend automation to ensure robust integration and data validation across services. Develop and maintain BDD-style test suites using tools like Cucumber, integrating functional scenarios with automation scripts. Contribute to test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting across multiple phases of the SDLC. Work closely with Agile teams, actively participating in ceremonies and sprint activities. Support automation efforts by enhancing existing frameworks and integrating functional tests into CI/CD pipelines. Mentor junior testers and promote best practices in functional testing, API testing, and BDD automation.

Work Experience

Required Skills (Technical Competency)

6+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on functional, regression, and backend testing. Strong experience in API testing and backend automation using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar. Hands-on experience in automation using JavaScript/TypeScript with tools like WebdriverIO, Selenium, or similar. Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow). Proficient in test data management using formats like XML, YAML, or JSON. Solid understanding of STLC, SDLC, and defect lifecycle management. Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile testing practices. ISTQB Foundation Level certified.

Desired Skills

Exposure to CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into DevOps workflows. Experience with test reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Allure, Extent Reports). Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and user experience. Show more Show less
