Full Description
Role Summary
- We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect with strong expertise in API Automation Testing and Quality Engineering to lead the design and implementation of scalable automation frameworks and end-to-end testing strategies.
- This role requires hands-on capability in Rest Assured, Postman, and modern automation practices, along with the ability to architect automation solutions integrated into CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong Oil & Gas domain understanding and be able to drive quality across the full SDLC while collaborating closely with development, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
- Key Responsibilities
- API Automation Architecture & Framework Development
- Architect, design, and develop robust API automation frameworks using tools such as Rest Assured and Postman.
- Define reusable automation standards, coding practices, and test strategy to support scalable API testing.
- Ensure automation frameworks support maintainability, extensibility, and high execution performance.
- CI/CD Integration & Continuous Testing
- Integrate API automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and GitHub.
- Enable continuous testing aligned with software build and release processes.
- Support shift-left testing practices to detect defects early in the development lifecycle.
- End-to-End Automation, POC & Feasibility
- Lead and manage end-to-end (E2E) automation strategy across multiple applications/services.
- Conduct proof of concepts (POCs) and feasibility assessments for new tools, frameworks, and automation approaches.
- Recommend best-fit solutions aligned with project needs and enterprise standards.
- Quality Engineering & Defect Management
- Validate API endpoints to ensure correct request/response behavior, reliability, and data accuracy.
- Identify, log, document, and track defects through resolution using standard defect lifecycle practices.
- Perform automated regression testing to confirm fixes and prevent reoccurrence.
- Reporting, Dashboards & Test Visibility
- Generate test execution reports and dashboards for automation coverage, pass/fail trends, defect leakage, and overall quality metrics.
- Provide meaningful insights to stakeholders to support release readiness and decision-making.
- Database & Data Validation Testing
- Perform database validation to ensure API integrations correctly persist and retrieve data.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
- BDD & Test Design
- Develop and maintain BDD-based automation using frameworks such as Cucumber and/or SpecFlow.
- Translate business requirements into test scenarios that are clear, reusable, and aligned with Oil & Gas workflows.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with development teams, architects, and product stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Provide strong communication and articulation across technical and non-technical teams.
- Promote automation best practices and mentor team members where needed.
- Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in API Automation Testing.
Strong hands-on expertise with
- Rest Assured
- Postman
- Experience designing and developing automation frameworks for APIs.
Strong understanding of CI/CD integration

- Experience managing end-to-end automation, including POCs and feasibility checks.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Oil & Gas domain expertise is mandatory.
