Our team is responsible for testing the software running Akamai's world-wide network i.e. world's largest distributed systems. We're building a global serverless functions infrastructure that complements Akamai's current offerings. The platform provides edge compute functions executing at distributed locations worldwide with event-driven triggers, auto-scaling execution, and pay-per-use pricing. Partner with the best You perform software QA/testing duties in furtherance of solving critical software automation and verification problems in a distributed systems environment. Work with developers, QA teams on system-wide automation infrastructure; contribute to system test plans & ensure effective test coverage &automation. Create & deploy automated system tests to replicate real world scenarios; improve testing methodologies, procedures to enhance test automation efficiency.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for

• Reviewing software designs, developing test strategies and executing tests on a large-scale distributed test network.
• Verifying the server using white-box/black-box/functional/stress testing techniques.
• Investigating and analyzing root causes of technical issues / performance bottlenecks.
• Setting up a test bed environment for regression testing /performance testing.
• Maintaining/enhancing/developing test tools and automation frameworks.

Centering philosophy: "Shift-Left with Automation First", all tests are developed, integrated to CI pipelines from start running parallel with feature development. Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 02 years of experience in Automation testing and building/enhancing automation frameworks.
• Have understanding of fundamentals (Data Structures, Networking) & proficiency at least one programming language (Python) and exposure to working in Unix/Linux.
• Have exposure/interest working with internet technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc and be passionate solving large scale distributed systems problems
• Enjoy working as a team, collaborating and solving problems with others
• Be passionate to understand, learn, and dissect new technologies quickly and Pay meticulous attention to detail and have excellent debugging/troubleshooting skills
• Have an understanding of serverless computing and cloud native technologies( CI/CD, Containerization & orchestration, IaaS)
