Role & seniority: Senior/Lead Quality Engineer responsible for technical mentorship, QA leadership, and support across internal teams and customers/suppliers.
Stack/tools: Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001; AS9100 preferred), risk-based thinking, FMEA, control plans, inspection methods, test equipment, measurement plans, data/documentation systems, root-cause analysis tooling.

Essential Functions
Provide day-to-day technical support and mentorship to Quality Engineers and Technicians to drive progress toward departmental objectives and maintain established quality standards. Collaborate with the Director of Quality to align team efforts with strategic goals, assist in resource planning, and facilitate the distribution of workloads to ensure balanced contributions and optimal team performance. Coordinate and prioritize quality-related activities to ensure coverage of daily tasks and timely completion of priorities. Partner with process owners to review, improve, and maintain process controls that support product quality and consistent results. Assist in the revision and optimization of quality procedures, work instructions, and related documentation to enhance clarity, accuracy, and usability. Contribute to the development and implementation of inspection methods, test equipment, and measurement plans based on customer or engineering requirements. Identify and propose to processes or documentation that help reduce errors, increase clarity, or improve efficiency. Analyze team and process performance metrics to detect patterns, identify risks, and recommend corrective or preventive actions. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support teams to address quality concerns. Support and lead investigations into internal and customer-reported nonconformances, contributing to containment, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective action planning. Review nonconformance data and identify potential areas for process changes and improvements. Facilitate and participate in structured problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Serve as a liaison with suppliers and customers to support issue resolution, ensuring timely communication and effective action. Lead internal audits and help drive follow-up and improvement activities. Support and coordinate external audits (e.g., customer or certification body audits) and help ensure readiness and documentation accuracy. Act as an onsite point of contact for customer visits or audits, representing the QA function and supporting customer confidence in product and process quality. Contribute to ongoing quality system improvements and support initiatives led by the QA team or company leadership. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following company and quality system requirements.

Bachelors degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or a technical environment with Customer and Supplier facing responsibilities Practical experience leading ISO9001 based Quality Management Systems (AS9100 preferred). Practical knowledge and application of risk-based thinking and common quality tools (e.g., FMEA, control plans). Able to interpret technical drawings, procedures, and specifications. Comfortable working with data, documentation, and computer-based systems. Certifications such as CQA or CQE are a plus but not required.
