This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking a skilled Technician – Test & Launch who will leverage technical expertise and operational excellence to ensure the readiness and integration of ground systems, vehicles, and engines for launch and test operations. This role involves the verification and validation of component and system integration, preparation of test and launch environments, and hands-on troubleshooting pre and post-mission. The Technician – Test & Launch will collaborate across disciplines to uphold the highest standards of safety, reliability, and mission success for Blue Origin’s spaceflight operations. Position Specific Details: Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (6am-2:30pm), B | Mon-Fri (2pm-10:30pm), C | Fri-Sun (6am-6:30pm) Location: MSFC Huntsville , AL Relocation: Available Key Responsibilities Prepare ground systems, vehicles, and engines for launch and test activities through setup, configuration, verification, and readiness tasks. Verify correct integration and functionality of all components and systems prior to launch or test, following rigorous checklists and protocols. Conduct pre-launch/test inspections, identifying and troubleshooting integration or system readiness issues, escalating as needed. Support vehicle/engine integration tasks, including alignment, connections, instrumentation setup, and data acquisition for launch/test events. Assist in post-launch/test operations by performing disassembly, inspection, and verification of system status and integrity. Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, lifts, cranes, etc.) and a variety of hand and power tools to facilitate launch/test operations. Maintain clear documentation of readiness, integration, testing, and anomaly resolution activities in compliance with technical and operational standards. Uphold high safety standards, reporting hazards and ensuring launch/test operations are conducted in safe and secure environments. Participate in emergency response and critical operation procedures during test and launch activities. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and mission control teams to ensure seamless handoffs and technical support. Implement continuous improvement initiatives for system integration, test protocols, and launch operations processes. Team Focus & Domain Expertise Technicians – Test & Launch at Blue Origin play a vital role ensuring our vehicles and engines are correctly integrated and fully operational for successful launches and tests. As a Technician – Test & Launch, you will work with ground support systems, perform system checkouts, and operate specialized tooling and diagnostic equipment. You will be hands-on in both pre-launch/test preparation and post-event recovery, ensuring the highest technical standards and operational reliability. Minimum Qualifications: Experience in aerospace launch operations, testing, or related technical field: (0-3 years Level I Technician. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (drawings, schematics, procedures) Experience with mechanical, electrical, or fluid systems in integration and test environments Skill in using standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment Basic understanding of instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition equipment Demonstrated ability to follow complex checklists and protocols in high-stakes environments Comfortable with lifting up to 50lbs, working at heights, and in confined spaces as required for operational needs Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications Must pass Redstone (MSFC) Background Check Must have Star ID or Passport Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience supporting launch operations or vehicle/engine integration in aerospace or related industries Familiarity with ground support equipment, launch/test environments, and range safety protocols Experience in troubleshooting, verification, and validation of complex systems and hardware Working knowledge of propellants, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and cryogenics Industry certifications, trade school training, or degree in a related technical field Success in hands-on, operations-focused environments with an emphasis on continuous improvement Experience with new product introduction and transition from development to production Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, reliability, and mission assurance CPV Experience Valve rebuild experience Experience in oil & gas, chemical processing, power, aerospace, or water/wastewater plants.
