The spaceport team from the OLRT division is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all orbital launch-related activities at Esrange Space Center. The team brings together engineering, operations, safety, and technical expertise across the full spaceport and launch lifecycle - from preparations, system development, and integration work to live operations and post-launch analysis. As we continue expanding our capabilities, we are building a strong pipeline of future colleagues to support upcoming missions, systems, and ground infrastructure.
Requirements
By joining our Talent Pool, you position yourself for upcoming roles within the Orbital Launch and Rocket Test division at Esrange Space Center. In the months ahead, we expect to strengthen our team in several engineering and technical areas.
Depending On Your Background, Future Responsibilities May Include
Supporting the development, operation, and maintenance of spaceport systems and infrastructure. Working with networks, software, control room environments, instrumentation, and launchpad technical systems. Participating in design, integration, testing, and qualification activities linked to payloads, launch systems, and ground support equipment. Contributing to operational readiness and on-site work involving tools, machinery, inspections, and technical troubleshooting. Ensuring system reliability and safety in areas such as process equipment, cryogenics and gases, RF communications, or cleanroom operations. Developing procedures, documentation, integration workflows, and operational processes to secure safe and efficient launch operations. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external launch partners in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.
Roles range from hands-on technical work at the launchpad to engineering positions involved in design, analysis, and system optimization. This talent pool is intended for professionals who want to play a key role in shaping the future of European launch capability.
Responsibilities
A degree in a STEM field, technical training, or equivalent professional experience. At least2β3 years of relevant experience in engineering, operations, IT/technical systems, integration work, or similar. Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written). Swedish language is an advantage. A structured and reliable way of working, with a strong focus on safety and quality. Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships across multidisciplinary teams. Problem-solving mindset with a hands-on, proactive, and pragmatic approach. Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and operational discipline.
We value if you bring valuable experience from work on ground systems within space launch complexes or spaceport facilities, whether around launch pads, integration areas, or test stands. You also have a solid understanding of end-to-end launch operations, from vehicle processing and countdown execution to mission operations, supported by a strong awareness of flight and range safety practices, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Depending on the specific future role, experience in areas such as programming, networking, cleanroom work, RF communications, cryogenic systems, machinery operation, or system design will be considered valuable.
A B driver's license is required for all Esrange site-based roles.
Due to the operational environment, physical presence at Esrange is mandatory. Our positions are security-sensitive and require approved security vetting and background check in accordance with the protective security act. Additional requirements regarding citizenship may apply.
