Role & seniority: Fluids Test Engineer, mid-to-senior level (5+ years experience) within Blue Origin’s Integration and Test team, Lunar Permanence unit.
Stack/tools: test planning and execution; vehicle fluid and thermal systems testing; P&IDs and pressure systems; test support equipment; data acquisition/controls; vendor/subcontractor management; scripting (Python or similar).
Develop test plans/procedures for vehicle-level development, test beds, and qualification testing; lead daily test operations and coordinate with customers.
Design, procure, install test support equipment; troubleshoot during testing; analyze and archive test data; perform root cause and failure investigations.
Participate in test readiness/pre/post-test reviews; enforce safety policies; coordinate test crews, configurations, and procedural updates.
Must-have skills: BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related; 5+ years in fluids, pneumatic, cryogenic, or equivalent; understanding of P&IDs and pressure systems; ability to work in fast-paced environment; strong verbal/written/graphic communication; experience with test-as-fly mindset and exception processes.

Lunar Permanence is Blue Origin’s team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon (Link: https://www.blueorigin.com/blue-moon ). Our Lunar Permanence team is developing our lunar landers to demonstrate core capabilities – including the BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture. This role is for a Fluids Test Engineer within the Integration and Test team, supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Shift and Schedule: 1st shift *Note: Ability to work multiple shifts and weekends with extended hours during critical test operations Travel: Travel up to 25% during surge periods of integration and test to multiple offsite locations. Responsibilities: Develop test plans and procedures for vehicle level development, test beds, and qualification testing Lead daily test operations, test consoles, direct technician work, and coordinate with internal and external customers Work with the design and systems engineers to plan tests of the vehicle fluid and thermal systems, ensuring the tests are designed to verify the appropriate requirements Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks Perform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigations Find opportunities for safety improvements and be resourceful Have frequent and transparent customer interactions on challenging technical issues Work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews. Assist with procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
