Roles & Responsibilities: 1 Cloud Architecture & AWS Expertise Design, implement, and optimize scalable, high-availability, and secure infrastructure on AWS. Architect network topologies including VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT/IGW, Transit Gateway. Lead deployments for AWS services: EC2, ASG, ALB/NLB, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Secrets Manager, CloudFront. Implement enterprise-grade security practices: IAM fine-grained policies, KMS encryption, WAF, GuardDuty, SCP policies. Drive cost optimization strategies: rightsizing, RI/Savings Plans, storage optimization. 2 Infrastructure as Code & Automation Define IaC standards and build reusable modules using Terraform / CloudFormation / CDK. Automate provisioning of compute, networking, databases, and cluster components. Build advanced automation for deployments, scaling, patching, and configuration workflows. Mentor team members on IaC structures, environment segregation, and GitOps workflows. 3 CI/CD & Release Engineering Architect and maintain complex CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline. Implement progressive delivery (blue/green, canary deployments) on Kubernetes or ECS/EKS. Introduce automated testing, security scanning, and deployment quality gates. Optimize release cycles and improve deployment frequency and stability. 4 Kubernetes & Container Platforms Lead design and operations of EKS, ECS, or hybrid Kubernetes environments. Define cluster standards: node pools, networking, storage classes, ingress, autoscaling (HPA/Cluster Autoscaler). Manage Helm charts, GitOps operators (ArgoCD / Flux), and multi-cluster workloads. Enforce security controls (RBAC, Pod Security Standards, network policies, secrets management). 5 Observability & Reliability Engineering Build organization-wide observability using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, OpenTelemetry. Implement distributed tracing, SLO/SLA monitoring, performance baselines, and anomaly detection. Lead major incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and reliability improvements. Build automated alerting strategies to reduce noise and improve MTTR. 6 Security, Compliance & Governance Implement DevSecOps practices including vulnerability scanning, secret rotation, and policy enforcement. Use AWS security tools (Config, Security Hub, Inspector, GuardDuty) for governance. Establish environment separation, audit compliance, and SOC2/ISO-ready controls. 7 Leadership & Collaboration Lead technical discussions, system architecture reviews, and cross-team DevOps adoption. Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps/SREs and build documentation/playbooks. Work closely with developers, architects, and product teams to improve reliability and performance. Professional & Technical Experience 6+ years DevOps/SRE experience in production-grade environments. Expert-level AWS skills: compute, networking, databases, storage, scaling, managed services. Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS preferred). Expertise in Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK. Strong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/Azure DevOps). Deep understanding of Linux, shell scripting, Python/Bash, debugging, and system internals. Strong knowledge of networking (DNS, load balancers, firewalls, VPC networking). Experience with monitoring/logging tools: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK. Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and performance tuning.
