As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Capital Markets technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. This position is primarily based in a location within PNC’s footprint. This role offers exposure to PNC’s current technology stack, opportunities to explore agentic AI development, and participation in internal hackathons. You will play a key role in enhancing the Broker Dealer platform by automating manual processes, implementing regulatory-driven modifications, and building new technology capabilities in the Fixed Income space. You will also leverage microservices, MVC, and CQRS to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure applications. Key Responsibilities: •Define and implement application architectures using microservices, MVC, and CQRS patterns to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance. •Serve as a subject matter expert, mentoring development teams on best practices, design principles, and emerging technologies. • Design, develop, and deploy software solutions using PNC’s technology stack and CI/CD standards. • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies and collaborate as an integral member of the development team. • Implement enhancements, reports, and data extracts required by regulatory bodies. • Build new technology capabilities to support Capital Markets Fixed Income operations. • Ensure adherence to SOLID principles, maintain high code quality, and perform thorough unit testing. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions. Skills & Qualifications •Proven experience with microservices architecture, MVC frameworks, and CQRS for distributed systems. • Strong understanding of SOLID principles and object-oriented design. • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts. • Experience with unit testing frameworks and best practices. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. • Prior experience in financial services or capital markets is a plus.
