Job Title: AI Automation Engineer
Location: Remote
Salary: $135,000-$160,000
Skills: N8N, Zapier, Make.com, Prefect, or similar modern orchestration tool
We are working with a well-funded, fast-growing global tech startup that is building a modern, tech-enabled platform and scaling quickly. As part of continued growth, they are hiring an AI Automation Engineer to help transform how the business operates by replacing manual, repetitive processes with intelligent, scalable automation.
This role sits at the intersection of automation engineering, systems integration, and applied AI. You will work directly with business and technical stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, design solutions, and deliver production-ready workflows that are actively used across the organization. This is not a research or ML role. The focus is on practical, hands-on automation that drives real operational impact.
This is a full-time, permanent, remote role and we are looking to hire immediately.
Partner closely with leaders and teams across the organization to understand existing processes, identify automation opportunities, and prioritize high-impact use cases
Design and build end-to-end automation workflows using modern orchestration platforms such as n8n, Make.com, Zapier, Workato, or similar tools
Develop and maintain API-based integrations between internal systems and third-party tools, ensuring reliable data flow, error handling, and monitoring
Implement AI-enhanced workflows using technologies such as LLMs for classification, summarization, extraction, and decision support within automation pipelines
Write production-level JavaScript and/or Python to extend automation platforms with custom logic, transformations, and integrations
Own automation initiatives from discovery through rollout, including documentation, enablement, and iteration based on feedback and results
Collaborate with engineering and operations partners to ensure automations are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with broader system architecture
Track and communicate the business impact of automations, including time savings, workload reduction, and efficiency gains
3+ years of hands-on experience building automation solutions and workflow systems
Strong experience working directly inside modern workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make.com, Zapier, Workato, or similar
Experience applying AI within automation workflows, such as LLM-based classification, summarization, extraction, or decision support
Experience writing production level code in JavaScript and/or Python, including writing custom logic inside automation workflows
Solid experience with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, data transformation, and multi-system integrations
Proven ability to work cross-functionally, gather requirements, communicate solutions clearly, and drive adoption with non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities evolve and ownership is expected
Experience transitioning from traditional RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate) into more flexible, API-driven workflow automation platforms
Background in startups, scale-ups, or small teams where speed, autonomy, and ambiguity are part of the job
Experience measuring automation ROI and helping teams prioritize work based on business impact
