Mission

As a Software Test Engineer you will provide mission support including test engineering support and advice to government customers; attending technical working groups and configuration control boards; working with software development engineers, information assurance engineers, system administrators, and network engineers to troubleshoot and resolve functional deficiencies; providing technical assistance to operational testers performing Force Development Evaluations; and, collaborating with software development engineers to create applications that meet customer mission needs.

Responsibilities

Process Security Assistance Management Directorate's (SAMD) Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) tasking management along with tasking and coordination between PAE Fires PMOs and AMCOM SAMD Teams & employees. Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test procedures for system functionality, performance, and integration testing. Conduct both development and operational testing of software components and integrated systems within the Force Tracking environment. Apply statistical analysis, sampling, and test and evaluation techniques to identify defects and performance issues. Validate and verify system requirements through traceability to technical specifications and test cases. Prepare, review, and analyze test data and failure reports, support root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions. Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Author and review comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports, and risk assessments. Ensure adherence to applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and industry testing standards.

Required Skills And Qualifications

Be an effective communicator and able to communicate - write, oral, and presentation formats. Four years of progressively complex experience in probability, reliability, maintainability, statistical analysis methods, sampling and test and evaluation techniques, data collection and familiarity with applicable regulations and standards. Specific experience must have been in the areas of development testing at both component and system level; preparation, review and analysis of failure reports, verification of corrective actions; requirement validation and their translation and trace to technical requirements and test specifications; and preparation and review of detailed test plans/procedures/reports. Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for SCI

Desired Skills And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science in engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in progressively more complex work experience in engineering or scientific discipline Proficient in creating detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts Experienced in executing test cases and documenting test results Skilled in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) Familiarity with various types of testing (functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Experience in providing test reports and metrics to stakeholders Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Strong analytical skills for effective test planning and execution Excellent problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues Attention to detail to ensure thorough testing and accurate results Basic understanding of Group Policy and Change Management best practices. Understanding of IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP and basic subnetting principles. Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services. Security Principles to include Password Policy, Physical Security, Access Control and Risk Assessment and Mitigation. Experience using Wireshark, tcpdump and Putty.
