Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Environmental Test Technician B First Shift to support the Manufacturing team in El Segundo, CA!
Job Summary
As an Environmental Test Technician B, you will assist in the set up and execution of environmental tests including vibration testing, shock testing, thermal vacuum and thermal cycle testing. Work directly with the test conductor to perform the testing on space flight hardware. This role requires the ability to work first shift.
This position's internal job code is Environmental Test Technician B. Our team is currently hiring for labor grade 15.
Assist and execute environmental tests of space flight hardware using a variety of specialized equipment and tools, inclusive of electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, torque wrenches, adhesives, etc. Assists in installation and operation of test instrumentation and other specialized test equipment, inclusive of accelerometers, thermocouples, etc. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test procedures, and follow the prescribed steps accordingly Work with engineering to define and refine standard operating procedures Record, prepare, organize, and deliver test data, run logs, and other relevant documentation for inclusion in final test reports Maintain environmental test lab equipment, perform resource 5S activities, etc. Support initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental test Operate and capture data from test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, test racks, etc.) This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance And Export Control Requirements
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
