Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer with expertise in JavaScript-based automation frameworks, particularly Playwright. The ideal candidate will lead test automation efforts, manage quality delivery, and contribute towards continuous improvement of test practices within Agile/DevOps teams.
Responsibilities
Lead the test automation strategy and execution for frontend and backend components using Playwright and JavaScript. Define, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks, test cases, and scripts. Collaborate with Developers, DevOps, and Product Owners in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality releases. Drive test planning, estimation, and reporting activities across projects/releases. Mentor and guide junior team members and ensure adherence to QA best practices. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines integrated with automated tests (e.g., using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions). Perform root cause analysis of test failures and identify opportunities for improving code/test quality. Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and defect triage calls.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience in JavaScript/TypeScript automation with Playwright. Sound knowledge of UI and API automation strategies. Experience with Test Automation Framework Design and implementation. Knowledge of BDD/TDD practices using tools like Cucumber or Jest. Good to have integrating test scripts with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps). Familiarity with version control systems like Git. Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models. Good understanding of test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
Preferred Skills
Exposure to other automation tools like Selenium, Cypress. Knowledge of RESTful APIs and tools like Postman or Rest Assured. Performance testing knowledge using tools like JMeter is a plus. Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is desirable.
