Typ: Fulltime About the Role We are seeking a Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Playwright with TypeScript, strong working knowledge of Cypress, and hands-on experience in API automation. This role requires technical leadership, ownership of automation strategy, and the ability to mentor team members while driving modern, scalable, and AI-assisted QA practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and evolution of robust UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript) and Cypress.
Define and drive the overall automation testing strategy aligned with business and engineering goals.
Architect scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation solutions following best practices.
Develop and maintain API automation suites using tools such as Postman, Playwright, or equivalent frameworks.
Review automation code, enforce quality standards, and provide technical guidance to QA team members.
Mentor and support junior and mid-level automation engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Integrate and optimize automated tests (UI & API) within CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvements in test reliability and execution time.
Collaborate closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams on test planning, estimation, and release readiness.
Champion the adoption of AI-assisted testing tools such as GitHub Copilot and GenAI solutions to improve productivity and test coverage.
Explore and implement AI-driven testing approaches including intelligent test generation, self-healing tests, test optimization, and predictive analysis.
Define automation metrics, reporting, and dashboards to provide clear visibility into quality and release health. ________________________________________
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on modern UI and API automation.
Expert-level hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
Solid, practical experience with Cypress.
Proven experience in API automation (Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API testing or similar).
Strong understanding of Git, GitHub workflows, and version control best practices.
Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
Strong knowledge of automation architecture, design patterns, and framework scalability.
Demonstrated experience leading automation efforts and influencing QA strategy.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and lead by example.
Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants in test automation workflows.
