Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Test Engineer with a strong foundation in manual testing and basic to intermediate exposure to automation testing using Java and Selenium. The ideal candidate should be passionate about quality, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Understand business requirements and translate them into detailed test scenarios and test cases Perform manual testing including functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools Develop and execute automation test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java Maintain and enhance existing automation test suites Execute automated test cases and analyze test results Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives Ensure high-quality deliverables within defined timelines
Required Skills
Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) Knowledge of Manual Testing concepts (test case design, defect lifecycle, testing types) Basic to intermediate experience with Java Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver Familiarity with TestNG / JUnit Understanding of Automation Framework concepts Knowledge of Maven/Gradle for build management Experience with Git or any version control system Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology
Good To Have
Experience with API testing Knowledge of SQL and database testing Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins Experience testing web-based applications Basic understanding of BDD (Cucumber)
Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
