Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable event-driven architectures using Kafka.

Must-have skills

5+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems architecture.

Deep Kafka expertise (design, administration, monitoring, tuning).

About the opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Automation Engineer with expertise in event messaging infrastructure and architecture, specifically Kafka related self-managed and cloud implementations. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and managing the operational lifecycle of event-driven systems and cloud automation pipelines. This is a technical, hands-on position with a strong emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance. What you'll get to do Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable event-driven architectures leveraging Kafka and related technologies. Lead the automation and optimization of infrastructure and application workflows across cloud platforms. Ensure operational stability and performance of event infrastructure including monitoring, alerting, and incident response. Collaborate with development, DevOps, and platform teams to define best practices around event messaging and cloud automation. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines to support event services. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, middleware, and application issues in production and non-production environments. Contribute to architecture decisions and documentation regarding event infrastructure strategy. Skills and experience we value 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems architecture roles. Strong expertise in Kafka (design, administration, monitoring, tuning). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure and AWS. Solid understanding of event streaming, messaging patterns, and real-time data pipelines. Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as Terraform and Python. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on reliability and observability. What would make you really stand out Experience with schema management (e.g., Confluent Schema Registry).
