Role Overview Seeking a Camera Validation Engineer responsible for validating new camera modules and image sensors, defining and owning validation specifications, executing image quality characterization and verification, and supporting camera module bring-up from early design and prototyping through qualification and mass production for the next-generation vision systems of the 1X humanoid robot. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced product development environment.
Responsibilities Execute comprehensive camera system-level characterization of optical and electrical performance in complex robotic systems Design and implement robust calibration protocols and manufacturing test processes for high-precision vision systems Lead hardware and software vision system bring-up from prototype design through mass production Act as the primary technical point of contact for external vendors, driving alignment to performance requirements Develop specifications and objective metrics for camera validation systems Work closely with AI perception teams to align system requirements and feature development Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field 3+ years of relevant experience in camera and imaging systems Working knowledge of electrical, optical, and mechanical aspects of camera modules Experience with Python and C/C++ Proficiency working in a Linux environment Experience with standard image quality evaluation tools and software (Such as Imatest, Image Engineering, Matlab or equivalent) Ability to work full-time on-site Nice-to-Have Proven experience with stereo vision systems and consumer camera products Experience with machine learning and computer vision frameworks
