Top 3 responsibilities

Provide day-to-day automation and batch system support to site operations as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Configure, program, and fault-find PLC, SCADA, and batch systems

On-site installation, commissioning, and modification of control and batch systems (with documentation and stakeholder liaison)

Integrated Control Solutions is a trusted provider of automation and electrical engineering services, delivering innovative solutions to industry since 1998.
This site-based role in Cork will involve providing hands-on automation support to a large-volume liquid processing facility, working with a range of control platforms. The role has a strong operational focus, with particular emphasis on PLC, SCADA and S88-compliant Batch systems, alongside other industrial control systems and hardware.
Reporting to the Automation Manager, the Automation Engineer will be part of a strong site-based automation team, supporting day-to-day plant operations and continuous improvement activities.
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for
- Providing day-to-day automation and batch system support to site operations as part of a multi-disciplinary automation team
- PLC, SCADA and Batch configuration, programming and fault-finding
- On-site installation, commissioning and modification of control and batch systems
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to batch performance, uptime and repeatability
- Production, maintenance and control of technical, batch and validation documentation
- Liaising closely with site stakeholders, operations teams and external vendors
Requirements: applicants should possess the following as a minimum
- Degree-level qualification in Engineering (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Automation Engineer
- Demonstrable experience in industrial control systems within an operational plant environment
PLC programming experience: Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens
SCADA experience: One or more of the following - Aveva InTouch, System Platform, OMI. FactoryTalk View.
Experience in the following would be desirable
- Strong experience with S88 batch systems, preferably Aveva InBatch, including recipe lifecycle support and batch troubleshooting
- Other PLC / SCADA platforms
- SQL coding experience
- SSRS report development
- Electrical installations
Industrial networks: EtherNet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, AS-i ATEX regulations Machinery Safety Standards Experience in the liquids processing industry
