  1. Install, integrate, and test COTS and custom equipment for superconducting microelectronics research

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is searching for a Principal / Sr Principal Integration & Test Engineer to support our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department. As a member of the SEIT department you’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make our technologies a reality. This position will serve on-site at Sentinel Program, at our Woodland Hills, CA facility. This position will be 100% on-site.

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will serve as an Integration and Test Electrical Engineer for the Sentinel Program, requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Daily responsibilities may include

Support the installation, integration, and testing of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom equipment used to further research efforts on superconducting microelectronic devices. Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate equipment issues to support system build-out and sell-off. Communicate project status to the Integration and Test (I&T) IPT Lead. Collaborate with research scientists and systems engineers to perform system architecture characterization studies on various system components. Design, develop, and implement testing methods for individual pieces of equipment (both custom and COTS) and entire systems. Compile data and help to define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements. Performing hands-on electrical testing at CCA level test setup and execution Performing hands-on electrical testing at a systems level Incorporating hardware and/or software design changes Documenting & dispositioning hardware discrepancies, pursuing root cause & corrective actions

This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance.

This requisition may be filled as a Principal Integration & Test Engineer or Senior Principal Integration & Test Engineer

Basic Qualifications For Principal Engineer Test

5 Years with B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline, 3 Years with M.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline, or 1 year with a PhD. Active DoD Secret Level security clearance. Experience in electrical testing, diagnostics, and formal requirements decomposition with traceability and verification. Ability to diagnose complex issues, lead problem-solving efforts, and drive tasks to completion.

Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.

Proficient in at least one of the following programming environments: MATLAB, C, C++, C#, and/or Python. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership of small projects or teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Qualifications For Sr. Principal Engineer Test

8 Years with B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline, 6 Years with M.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline, or 4 years with a PhD. Active DoD Secret Level security clearance. Experience in electrical testing, diagnostics, and formal requirements decomposition with traceability and verification. Ability to diagnose complex issues, lead problem-solving efforts, and drive tasks to completion.

Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.

Proficient in at least one of the following programming environments: MATLAB, C, C++, C#, and/or Python. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership of small projects or teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications For Principal Engineer Test

Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance. Experience creating automated test scripts that integrate with hardware interfaces.

Working knowledge of standard design components: filters, couplers, splitters, amplifiers, etc. Experience working with operational hazards such as overhead lifting, Thermal Chambers, and Vibration Test systems Experience with MES, or other digital work instruction platform. Strong track record of driving innovation and spearheading digital-transformation initiatives in test workflows. Experience engaging external customers through meetings, presentations, and technical negotiations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
