Salary: $86,800 - $128,000 / year
Role & seniority: Test Engineer Level II; 2–4 years in systems engineering or test engineering for aerospace/defense or propulsion.
Stack/tools: MATLAB/Simulink; C/C++; software-in-the-loop (SWIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL); telemetry/instrumentation; RS-422/485, CAN; data analysis; MS Office Suite.
Develop and execute test plans/procedures for propulsion systems; support control system, avionics, and software tasks for rocket motor testing.
Define instrumentation/test facility requirements; assist instrumentation calibration/validation; participate in SWIL/HWIL testing.
Contribute to pre-/post-test analysis, TRRs, and support for PDR/CDR/data presentation; identify risks and assist mitigation.
2–4 years in aerospace/defense propulsion testing or systems engineering; bachelor’s/master’s in STEM.
Experience with software/hardware integration, troubleshooting, and basic analysis; familiarity with TRR/PDR/CDR documentation.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, instrumentation, pressure/temperature/acceleration/force measurement; RS-422/485, CAN; Excel/PowerPoint/Word.
Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Job Summary: The Test Engineer Level II supports propulsion system testing and basic systems engineering tasks within the Aerospace and Defense industry. This role collaborates with senior engineers to assist with test planning, control system support, test software development, instrumentation integration, and analysis. The engineer performs tasks under guidance, contributing to research, development, and risk-reduction testing while gaining experience across multiple technical domains.
