Must-have skills

  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence; working with debugging/profiling tools

  • PC/mobile game testing experience; analytical thinking; problem-solving; ability to work independently

  • English level not lower than Intermediate

Junior QA Engineer

Pingle Game Studio is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Manual QA Engineer who wants to join a cool team of professionals and work on game projects for consoles, PCs, and VR platforms. The main part of the job will involve porting games to current and previous generations of consoles, optimizing, supporting, and improving existing games.

Requirements

Passion for video games and a desire to grow in game development; Thorough knowledge of testing theory and QA methodologies; Confident experience with Google Docs and Sheets; Experience in creating test documentation (test cases, checklists, reports, bug reports); Six months (6 months+) of experience as a QA Engineer; Understanding of the full cycle of development and testing of a commercial game project; Experience testing games/applications on PC and mobile platforms. Confident working with Jira, Confluence; Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently; English language level — not lower than Intermediate.

Responsibilities

Functional testing of gaming products on various platforms; Smoke and Sanity testing; Testing for compliance with platform standards (Compliance/TRC, PlayStation); Working with debugging and profiling tools (PIX, RAZOR); Testing according to test cases and checklists; Creating, updating, and maintaining all test documentation (test plans, checklists, reports); Working with Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo Switch target platform managers; Working with debug functionality on consoles (Xbox, PS, Switch); Participating in internal playtests, including multiplayer games; Assessing build stability and providing feedback on release readiness; Working with Confluence, Jira, and other management tools.

Would Be a Plus

Understanding of the Xbox | Playstation platform requirements testing process; Experience working with console Target Managers; Understanding of working with Steam branches; Experience with performance testing of games on Unreal Engine; Understanding of game porting principles and working with builds for different platforms.
