Role & seniority: Software Engineer in Test (Contract) / QA Automation Engineer (SDET) with senior-level requirements
Stack/tools: Java, Selenium WebDriver; black-box/grey-box testing; test case management and issue tracking (JIRA, Rally, Silk Central); source control; SQL databases; experience with web/application servers (Tomcat) and cloud deployments (nice-to-have)
Design and execute black-box and grey-box test cases for Sony Network Entertainment internal apps
Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts in Java/Selenium; troubleshoot test code, environments, and infrastructure
Collaborate with QA, developers, DBAs, and project teams; analyze logs, perform SQL queries, and manage defects and test artifacts
5+ years manual and automated software testing experience
Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field
Experience with integration and end-to-end testing; API/web services testing
Proficient in SQL and relational databases; Agile (Scrum) environment
Strong communication and cross-team collaboration
Programming/scripting proficiency (Java, Selenium)
Experience with Tomcat or other application servers
Experience testing cloud-deployed applications
Location & work type: Los Angeles, CA; Contract role (6+ months); interview process includes phone and in-person/Skype (local preferred)

Software Engineer in Test (Contract) Los Angeles, CA The primary role of this position is to assure the quality of Sony Network Entertainment (SIE) internal applications using automation as well as black-box and gray-box testing techniques. Duties include trouble-shooting and resolving test code, test environment and infrastructure issues, as well as working with test case management, issue tracking, source control, database, requirements management, reporting, and other tools.
Strong knowledge, experience with programming and scripting languages such as: Selenium, JAVA Experience with web application servers such as Tomcat Experience with Experience testing cloud deployed applications A team player who does not need extensive supervision
