Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and defect tracking/reporting for data warehousing and reporting
Lead ETL/QA activities (including Control-M job execution, error handling testing, functional/regression/negative/deployment testing) and coordinate testing environments
Collaborate with business to understand requirements and with operations to build/testing environments; track progress and provide status

Must-have skills

Advanced SQL and complex query development for dimensional data warehouses (including slowly changing dimensions)
UNIX scripting familiarity; experience with Control-M and ETL tools (Ab Initio, Informatica)
Experience writing/manual test plans and test cases; ability to perform test execution and defect reporting; strong communication and independence

Nice-to-haves

Data-driven, modular automation design; determining automation scope after manual testing

Job Description

Must have: Demonstrate advance SQL, UNIX, Control-M and ETL (Ab Initio), Informatica, Data Warehousing

Test Strategy, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix, Test Cases, Test Data and Build Assessment documentation

Individuals in this role will be experienced in building test strategies, test plans, test scripts, test execution, and defect tracking and reporting for data warehousing and reporting capabilities. This role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet all the target dates and expectations. Qualified candidates will be able to

Demonstrated facility with the concepts of dimensionally modeled data warehouses & slowly changing dimensions, including the ability to write complex SQL queries against such a model
Define approach to validating capabilities.
Develop testing strategies and test plans, including functional testing, regression testing, negative testing, deployment testing , ETL job execution (Control-M)testing , and error handling testing.
Work with business to understand the requirement.
Work with operations team to coordinate the build of the testing environment for the initiative.
Track Defects and report on testing progress and results.

Candidate should be experienced in writing manual test plans, test cases, and performing test execution. This individual should identify the appropriate level of automation to perform after reviewing through manual test plans for complex distributed systems. This resource should be experienced in data-driven, modular automation design and should have deep expertise in SQL. Candidate should be experienced with QTP and other Test Automation Tools. Candidate should be comfortable working with the manual testing teams to automate and turnover scripts for acceptance. Candidate should be comfortable leading a team of 1-3 other test engineers. Five years of experience is desired.
