Job Title: Test Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a test engineer who enjoys working as a member of a team to support, improve & drive elements of our quality standards. This position is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving the test software, equipment, processes and methodologies used to perform end-of-line verification of new and existing products to ensure the efficient, cost-effective manufacture and test of high-quality products in support of strategic objectives. This position will report to our Quality Leader and will work collaboratively with other parts of the organization and team members to maximize success for Trystar and our customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Develop, build, and manage test software, tools, and processes for product testing with a focus on automated testing and results recording.

Work closely with the frontend development team for functional and application test definition
-
Apply methods for estimating the reliability of new designs
-
Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques or other risk mitigation for new customers and parts as needed. Recommend and facilitate optimization for existing processes.

Ensure functional and technical requirements are met through system testing, regression testing, performance testing, system interface testing, and security testing activities.

Work across teams to enhance quality functional testing by identifying and helping to implement initiatives that will improve capability and efficiency.

Improvement of key performance indicators (e.g., first test yield, scrap rate) through equipment and process troubleshooting and data analysis of MES results.

Regular presence on the production floor is required to troubleshoot issues, support operators, and drive improvements.

Mentoring and training hourly associates in proactive maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned processes, including development and rollout of training material.

Responsible to develop testing standards for products at various points in the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to customer requirements.

Perform standard testing processes on a variety of equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience 3+ years in a manufacturing environment or testing role..
- Minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability with windows desktop application programming.
- Ability to read and understand one-lines, schematics.
- Ability to read and verify electrical verbiage/standards and apply it to the product.
- Ability to verify electrical components in a product and use meter equipment.
- Ability to read, review engineering specifications, and blueprints to determine if product is in conformance.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or similar engineering field.

Experience 3+ years in electrical mechanical environments

Awareness of electrical standards or compliance certifications (UL, ETL, CSA)

Understand principles of electricity, electrical components, and physics pertinent to, and methods used in testing electric equipment.

Ability to use the NEC 2020 code book on products to make sure they meet code standards
-
Knowledge of hazards involved in working on or near energized equipment and proper safety precautions.

Strong communications skills with excellent teamwork skills to resolve issues/concerns.

Analytical and computer skills with experience with Epicor ERP / MRP or similar and Microsoft 365.
