Role & seniority: Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQDE); mid-level to senior engineering role in automotive supply quality.
Stack/tools: APQP/PPAP/FAI, IATF 16949, IRIS, SOPA/APQP, CPCLs, PPAP/FAI files, TEMPO, TS16949-aligned processes, supplier audits, DFM/DFMEA concepts; blueprints/GD&T; QS tools and quality documentation; CDE/PB coordination.
Coordinate and monitor supplier quality development from prototype to production (SOP + 6 months), including audits, deviations, and validation.
Manage supplier audits, action plans, risk assessments, deviations, and transfer of BOM components from Development to Plant production/quality.
Define and track supplier quality deliverables (audits, certifications, PPAP/FAI, special process audits); ensure APQP/PPAP/FAI compliance and timely communication to suppliers.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Technical or Business; minimum 3 years in automotive QA/engineering.
APQP/PPAP/FAI experience (willing to train if needed); blueprint reading and GD&T; measurement systems analysis.
Statistical methods, strong problem solving, decision making, prioritization; solid written/verbal communication.
Quality credentials (ASQ CQE/CQA) a plus; ability to adapt to multiple manufacturing environments; teamwork with self-imposed deadlines.
Missions The Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQDE) is responsible to coordinate and monitor all Supplier quality development activities from the prototype phase to the full PPAP ou full FAI (SOP + 6 months) of the “free” purchased components (BOM) for its projects.
Responsibilities & Activities
Coordinate suppliers during development phases to meet Plastic Omnium Auto Inergy requirements and timing (supplier audits, TS16949 (IATF 16949) and IRIS Standards, customer specific requirements, SOPA/APQP, CPCLs, PPAP/FAIs, deviations, special process audits, incoming inspection, etc) Actively manage supplier changes to ensure proper validation Manage the handover transfer for BOM components from Development to Plant production and quality.
Sourcing phase
Manage suppliers audits and associated action plans until closure Contribute to the Supplier choice by doing Risk assessment with CDE & PB prior to sourcing Ensure the availability of main Quality documents validated for sourcing (APQP planning from supplier, Team Feasibility Commitment, Quality commodity checklist) Ensure deviations are formalized and tracked (missing certifications, audit scores below requirements, etc)
Ensures the follow-up of the quality validation of the components in the development phase on assigned projects
Actively track suppliers timing and supplier quality deliverables during development phases Communicate to suppliers the Plastic Omnium Clean Energy System requests linked to APQP/ PPAP or FAI folder as well as specific quality items (CSR, APQP, Requalification, TFC, QCCL…) Ensure the integration of those requirement in supplier and project timings Design and track a status of all supplier quality deliverable during development (audits, certifications, deviation list, PPAP/FAI, special process audits, etc) Periodically reports the associated progress including the risks identified Ensure deviations are formalized and tracked (deviations to requirements, etc etc) Raise development SNCRs and follow associated actions plans associated until closure
Validate components of these projects
Ensure with PB, QE, PTL, CDE that the suppliers know the documents listed inside norms and CTS and has understood the content of this norms, CTS as well as CSR (customer specific request) Alert purchasing department (PB, CB) and SDL in the event of significant deviations related to the implementation of the quality tools/deliverables planned in the supplier's APQP/supplier quality planning Participate to the component drawing review.
ensure CPCLs are done and checked for all components prior to assembly. Any deviation needs to be formalized and tracked. Perform incoming inspection
Ensure relevant control plans are defined on supplier production lines Perform process audits by measuring application and documentary deviations from PPAP/FAI folder and ensure implementation action plans including effectiveness of actions. Perform, Validate, distribute and archive PPAP/FAI files according to current rules Receive, validate and archive PPAP/FAI samples. Define together with technical and quality team the incoming inspection to be implemented in the plant. Use of TEMPO as primary tool
Continuously improve supplier quality
Promote safety to our suppliers and perform supplier safety awareness audits Manage supplier scorecards and establish action plans when necessary Ensure the supply base in TEMPO is up to date regarding suppliers’ quality certificates Support the plants in case of warranty issues (within SOP + 6 months) Report to Key users and Business Process Owner (BPO) all difficulties or improvement proposals. Must comply with all OPMobility work rules, policies and procedures Must comply with all safety rules and regulations

Personal Background
Bachelor's degree required (Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Technical or Business) Minimum of 3 years of experience working at an automotive manufacturer or Tier I automotive within the role of quality or engineering
Job Technical skills
