Role Summary We are looking for a highly skilled SDET-3 (Software Development Engineer in Test) to lead our test automation initiatives and build platforms that improve the productivity of QA and development teams. You will design frameworks and tools that automate test case generation, documentation, and execution across web, mobile, and API layers for both Ecommerce and Health Tech platforms. Alongside hands-on automation, you will mentor SDET-2 and SDET-1 engineers, establish quality best practices, and drive a culture of engineering excellence. This role is a blend of technical leadership, platform building, and quality ownership for Kapiva’s diverse product ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities Define and own test strategy, estimation, and planning for Ecommerce and Health Tech features. Architect and build automation platforms and frameworks that enable scalable, reusable, and maintainable test execution. Develop tools for automating test case documentation and code generation, improving QA and developer productivity. Create detailed, well-structured test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.

- Build automated coverage for Ecommerce flows (search, checkout, payments, subscriptions, promotions, personalization) and Health Tech flows (consultations, doctor dashboards, patient journeys, wellness plans).
- Integrate automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines on AWS/GCP.
- Identify, debug, and track defects with detailed RCA, ensuring faster resolution and reduced defect leakage.
- Build dashboards and reporting systems to track QA metrics (defect density, coverage, execution trends).
- Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging testing tools and AI-powered strategies.
- Mentor and manage SDET-2 and SDET-1 engineers; perform code reviews and enforce automation best practices.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure quality-first delivery.
- Support management with weekly and daily QA productivity/status reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications 4–6 years of experience in test automation and QA engineering. Proven experience in building test automation frameworks and platforms (web, mobile, API). Strong experience in API automation (RestAssured, Pytest, Postman). Proficiency in SQL and database validation. Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Prior experience mentoring/managing junior engineers in QA/automation. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests. B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Bonus Points Programming expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript for advanced automation scripting. Hands-on expertise with Cypress/Playwright and Appium. Domain expertise in Ecommerce (pricing, promotions, payments, subscriptions, search, personalization). Domain expertise in Health Tech (consultation flows, doctor/patient platforms, medical data handling). Experience building self-service QA platforms for test case generation, documentation, or execution. Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust). Knowledge of security testing practices. Familiarity with AWS/GCP cloud infra for QA environments. Strong advocate of shift-left testing and developer productivity improvements.
