HireArt is helping our client find a Sensor Systems Test Engineer to support the verification and validation of advanced sensor systems for next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms.
In this role, you’ll help ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of sensing systems, including lidar, camera, and radar, across new platform development and ongoing hardware updates.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on test engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of hardware, software, and systems engineering and who can translate complex test results into clear technical insights.
As a Sensor Systems Test Engineer, You'll
Contribute to verification and validation (V&V) activities for sensor systems (lidar, camera, radar) across new vehicle platforms and recurring hardware changes. Partner with systems, software, and sensor hardware engineers to define, standardize, and optimize scalable V&V methodologies. Design and execute test plans to verify sensing system requirements and validate system-level performance. Bring up test setups and tools, analyze test data, and communicate results through technical reports and executive updates. Develop reusable test automation and sensor data analysis software using Python and/or C++.
Requirements
Associate’s degree or higher in engineering or a related technical field 6+ years of experience in sensor systems development, integration, and/or testing
Familiarity with at least one sensor modality: camera, lidar, or radar Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and system-level testing Experience analyzing data using Python or other high-level languages (e.g., MATLAB, C++) Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional engineering environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with perception systems, autonomous vehicles, or robotics Background in systems engineering verification and validation Experience with test automation, particularly in production or scaled environments Familiarity with SQL Experience using Git for version control
