Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in test automation framework development, BDD methodologies, API automation, and database testing for complex enterprise applications. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of software products delivered in Agile environments.
As a senior member of the QA engineering team, you will lead automation initiatives, design scalable frameworks, and collaborate with globally distributed teams to drive continuous testing and CI/CD excellence. Your contributions will directly enhance delivery speed, product stability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web and API testing. Create automated test suites for web applications, APIs, and microservices. Architect framework components and establish automation best practices and standards. Implement and enhance BDD frameworks using Cucumber with Gherkin syntax.
API, Database & Functional Testing
Perform API automation testing for RESTful services using JSON/XML. Conduct database testing and validation by writing complex SQL queries. Execute functional, integration, and regression testing. Validate backend workflows and data consistency across systems.
Agile & CI/CD Integration
Lead in-sprint automation aligned with Agile delivery cycles. Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams. Support continuous testing strategies to enable faster and more reliable releases.
Collaboration & Leadership
Work effectively with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones. Provide technical guidance and mentorship on automation best practices. Participate in code reviews and continuously improve automation quality. Contribute to test strategy, estimation, and planning activities.
Experience & Skills
Have 5- 8 years of strong experience in test automation engineering. Possess strong Core Java expertise with solid Object-Oriented design concepts (mandatory). Have hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for UI automation. Are proficient in BDD methodologies using Cucumber or JBehave (mandatory). Have experience in API automation testing for REST services and microservices. Are skilled in database testing using SQL Server with complex SQL queries.
Tools & Technologies
Strong experience in automation framework development (web and API). Proficient with JUnit and TestNG. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
