Essential Functions of the Job

Overall Job Purpose

• The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for the creation, maintenance and execution of test automation for all BCUS's technology solutions

• Drive innovation in test automation strategy and methodology

• Ensure success of continuous integration and quality control through automation

• Ensure high-quality solutions through automation

• Establish quality assurance standards and best practices for test automation

Required Skills

• Delivery
• o Review requirements and design specifications with an emphasis towards product testability
• o Develop test strategies with QA engineers, developers and team members

o Develop and maintain automation testing across all layers: UI, services/API, mobile o Develop test harnesses o Design, extend, and optimize test automation framework o Automate test data management o Identify, implement, manage and report appropriate metrics. o Work with the Quality Assurance organization to ensure established procedures, standards and processes are utilized consistently o Maintains quality standards for own work; detail-oriented. o Develop and sustain positive relationships with peers.

o Manage the adherence and quality of all Administrative responsibilities according to prescribed timelines including

• Performance Development Process

• Timesheets

• Information Security Training and Acceptable Use Policy submissions

• o Support Quality Assurance goals

• o Adhere to all Barclays, Barclaycard, BCUS and BTG standards, policies and governance practices

• Best qualified candidate must have minimum five years of development on large software systems. Equivalent experience in descriptive software test automation development will be considered.

• BS/BE/BA in Computer Science

• Excellent C# programming ability

• Expertise in one or more of: Java, Groovy, C/C++, Python, PHP, Ruby, Perl, VB.NET

• Experience with Webservices

• Experience working in an agile development environment, preferably Scrum

• Ability to Read/Interpret XLM Technical Specification Documents and covert them it Flow diagrams

• Good SQL knowledge and able to create and work with databases

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Excellent team player with ability to work with multiple stake holders

• Excellent ability to deliver under pressure

• Solid organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and effectively bring discussions and issues to closure

• Solid project management skills, including ability to coordinate, negotiate, schedule and communicate with all levels of staff

• Experience with descriptive/advanced programming in test automation tools like SOAPUI Pro, Selenium, Ranorex, SeeTest. QTP

• o Have written functions/re-usable methods that will be globally accessed

• o Experience in creating test objects using multiple object repositories with identification UI elements

• Experience with Test Driven Development

• Experience with unit testing tools such as NUnit, TestNG, JUnit

• Experience with Continuous Quality Control through automated testing in support of Continuous Integration

• Experience with source control and configuration management systems such as SVN/CVS/Jenkins/Hudson/Nolio/SONAR/Fisheye/Crucible

• Domain background of Banking / Credit Card industry

• In-depth knowledge of quality management methodologies, principles, metrics and tools.
