As an Associate QA Engineer, you will begin your journey as a hands-on quality professional, supporting both manual and automated testing across multiple projects, including core products, plugins, and toolchains. This role is ideal for someone early in their QA career who is eager to learn, build strong testing foundations, and grow technical skills in automation and modern development practices. You will work closely with experienced QA engineers, developers, and product teams throughout the development lifecycle, contributing to test execution and helping ensure high-quality software releases. Key Responsibilities Execute manual and automated tests for assigned product areas under guidance from senior team members Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test scenarios based on requirements and design documentation Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks Identify, log, and help triage defects; support developers during bug-fix verification Participate in regression, exploratory, usability, and acceptance testing activities Support test execution within CI/CD pipelines and follow established QA processes Contribute to sprint ceremonies, testing activities, and release validation efforts Track test results and contribute to quality metrics and reporting Continuously learn QA best practices, tools, and automation techniques Required Qualifications Foundational experience or strong academic background in software testing (manual and/or automated) Basic understanding of QA principles, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle Exposure to test automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress Programming or scripting experience in Java (required) and/or Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript Familiarity with version control systems such as Git Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team Preferred Qualifications Internship, academic project, or early professional experience in QA or software development Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) Basic knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6) Familiarity with cloud platforms or container technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) ISTQB Foundation Level or similar certification Interest in growing toward automation, performance, or specialized testing areas Life at PTC is about more than working with today’s most cutting-edge technologies to transform the physical world.
