Strong RF engineering fundamentals, air interfaces, modulation/coding (DVB-S2(X), DVB-RCS2), and link budget analysis
Experience with test case/defect tools (Jira, Jama) and excellent communication
Experience with Ka-band antennas (multiple vendors), Flat Panel/Aero antennas, BUC/LNB
LEOP/IOT planning experience

The Senior RF Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining system verification and validation plans of the communication system. In addition, they will participate in the various testing activities across systems with vendors and other partners and responsible for maintaining the lab.
This position will be moved to our new Gatineau facility in 2026.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation. Work with various Antenna Vendors to support the SOW, SRR, Test Requirements, Test Plans, Test Results and RVTM reviews, in addition to follow up on the integrate of the Antenna with the other components (Modem, and other interfaces). Work with the other segments to support the development of the internal Test Plans and verification methods. Support Over The Air (OTA) Test Planning and activities including the Test automation processes. Support System Acceptance Planning activities for the LEOP and IOT. Develop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirements Coordinate and participate in RF and system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reporting Serve as an RF expert and support other technical staff as required Plays an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer etc. Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements Keep the lab functional and update to date with known hardware and software configuration to execute various test scenarios as necessary Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns
Education & Experience Required
B. S or M.S.in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in satellite communications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with different Ka band antenna vendors Experience with Flat Panel Antenna and Aero Antenna (Ka band preferable) Experience with BUC/LNB and various Antenna technologies Experience in Planning activities for the LEOP and IOT. Proficient with MATLAB, python. Highly collaborative team player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammates Excellent oral and written communication skills
Salary Range - $95,000 - $135,000
