Location: Mountain View, CA

Salary: $120,000.00 USD Annually - $125,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our client is currently seeking an ECAD Automation Engineer

An experienced ECAD Automation Engineer specializing in Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro/System Capture. This role focuses on developing custom solutions, tool automation, and application support to streamline the Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) design process. The engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining automation scripts, ensuring designs meet requirements from schematic capture through production.

Must-Have Technical/Functional Skills

ECAD Expertise & Automation

10+ years of experience in PCB design and ECAD tool development, with primary expertise in Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro/System Capture. 10+ years of experience in application support and tool development for custom processes and features across both platforms.

10+ years of experience utilizing automation scripts (VBA, Altium Scripts/API, Cadence SKILL, Python) to automate PCB design processes, including

  • Design Rule Checks (DRCs)
  • Fabrication output (fab out)
  • End-of-Life (EOL) checks
  • Deep experience with scripting/API for layout efficiency improvements, schematic automation, and automated checking.
  • Software Development

Strong experience with Python scripting, including pandas data frames and Python unit testing. Proficiency in VBA, Altium DelphiScripts/API, Cadence SKILL, and Python. Experience using Git/GitHub for version control. Familiarity with Google style Python linter.
