We are looking for a hands-on Production Test Engineer with knowledge and experience in electronics. You will play an important role in building up our production engineering team with a focus on handling the different challenges associated with assembling and testing advanced electronic systems.
This role is critical in ensuring our designs successfully transition from R&D into repeatable, high-quality production.
As a Production Test Engineer at AirForestry, you will be responsible for establishing and owning the production framework for both prototypes and early series production of our drone and harvesting tool. Your focus will be on understanding and maintaining the functions and quality of the electronic systems all the way from individual parts to the fully assembled system.
This is a hands-on scale-up role where you will start with limited structure and gradually help put processes, tools, and routines in place. Your work will range from defining sub-system test sequences and work instructions to troubleshooting production issues on the shop floor or handling quality issues together with suppliers
Continuously improve production efficiency, quality, and robustness Establish production processes, workflows, and infrastructure such as test cells for the drone driveline. Work with R&D to set up and maintain production testbeds for circuit boards and other subsystems. Create and maintain work instructions, BOM structures, and production documentation Support prototype builds, pilot builds, and ramp-up to low/medium volume production Identify production risks early and drive corrective actions Work closely with procurement and suppliers on traceability, quality, and lead times
3+ years of experience in electronic testing and/or service of electronic equipment. Experience taking products from design into production Strong understanding of electronic production processes Ability to work hands-on with physical hardware and production equipment Fluent in Swedish and English
Experience from low-volume / high-complexity products Background in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or industrial machinery Experience with production/service of medtech electronics. Experience setting up pilot lines or early production in a startup or scale-up environment
You are pragmatic, structured, and comfortable with ambiguity. You enjoy turning “almost working” designs into robust, buildable products. You’re equally comfortable in schematic reviews, Excel sheets, supplier calls, and on the workshop floor. You ask the annoying but necessary questions — early.
You will be a key part of a fast-paced, technically deep team working with cutting-edge hardware in real-world environments. We are office-first and based in Uppsala, with frequent hands-on work and close collaboration across disciplines.
