Job Description
We are looking for a PLC & Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience in automation and control systems to join our Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineering team. You’ll work on custom water technology projects, developing PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting commissioning activities across North America.
This is a hybrid role based in Oakville, offering the opportunity to work on innovative automation projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for various water technology systems. Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and participate in client meetings to ensure technical alignment and quality deliverables. Read and interpret engineering documentation including P&IDs, electrical schematics, I/O lists, and network architectures. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, project scope, budget, and timelines. Troubleshoot control systems and support network design and commissioning both remotely and on-site. Maintain and improve standardized process control documentation and automation best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (Electrical, Automation, or related field). Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automation or PLC Engineer. Proven experience with Rockwell and Schneider PLC systems (must-have). Experience with Siemens or Emerson automation platforms is a strong plus. Strong knowledge of control systems, network design, and VFDs. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Canada is preferred.
50K-115K The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications, in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
