Ready to do work that actually excites you? The Software Tester will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Microsoft-native, Azure-based applications and data solutions built by the business. This is a new function within the Application Development team, created to address increasing quality demands and reduce defects within product and custom application builds. Developers currently perform their own tests, so this role introduces dedicated QA discipline and best practices.

• 70% hands-on manual & automation testing
• 30% collaboration, documentation, and alignment with developers and product teams
• The Software Tester may also support other practices, such as Data & AI when testing is needed for data pipelines, Fabric-based platforms, or internal tooling.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the kind of person who

Testing & Quality Assurance Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing. Identify, document, and track defects using Azure DevOps or Jira. Test applications built using .NET/C# and Azure-based services. Validate quality of data-integrated systems, APIs, and SQL-backed components. Contribute to development and implementation of automation testing strategies, using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Collaboration & Agile Delivery Work closely with developers and technical consultants to clarify acceptance criteria and validate feature readiness. Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives). Provide feedback on development quality and advocate for QA best practices. Documentation Create and maintain test plans, test cases, defect logs, and supporting documentation. Ensure proper story/scenario breakdown and coverage, leveraging strong analytical and documentation discipline.

Requirements What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who

Core Technical Skills (Non-Negotiables) Proven experience with manual testing methodologies. Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum delivery. Experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira. Exposure to automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress). Ability to write structured and comprehensive test cases and test scenarios. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Microsoft Tech Stack Requirements Experience testing Microsoft-native applications—specifically .NET / C# applications deployed on Azure. Understanding of Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based environments. Exposure to testing SQL databases, queries, stored procedures, and data validation workflows. Experience supporting testing for data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, or analytics dashboards. Familiarity with testing apps involving AI-driven features or Azure Foundry-based modern applications. Awareness of security considerations, data encryption basics, and safe handling of sensitive data. Soft Skills & Expectations Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset. Proactive ownership and disciplined QA methodology. Ability to collaborate internally (no client-facing requirement for now, but preference goes to candidates with strong articulation skills).
