Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining automated test cases, performing software testing to ensure product quality, and conducting manual testing when necessary. You will contribute to improving and streamlining QA processes, collaborating closely with developers and QA teams to identify, analyze, and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years of experience in UI automation with a strong focus on UFT (Unified Functional Testing) in enterprise environments. Expert-level proficiency in UFT features including Object Repository, Actions, Checkpoints, and Descriptive Programming. Strong hands-on experience with VBScript for test script development. Experience designing and maintaining data-driven, modular, or keyword-driven test automation frameworks. Strong understanding of Excel object models and OƯice automation. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions). Working knowledge of SQL for test data prep and validation. Experience using Agentic AI tools to support coding and automation tasks.
Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization ability. Clear and eƯective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast-paced agile environment. Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small automation teams is a plus.
Bonus: Experience with Python or migration from legacy tools to modern scripting languages.
