We are looking for an experienced Modem Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in 5G/4G/3G cellular modem testing. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of 3GPP standards, LTE and NR protocols, and extensive experience with protocol conformance, performance, and interoperability testing.
Key Responsibilities
Execute and manage test plans for 5G NR and LTE L2/L3 protocol features including RLC, PDCP, MAC, RRC, and NAS. Perform protocol conformance, performance, and interoperability testing on cellular modem chipsets or UE devices. Analyze modem and network logs using 3GPP/IMS protocol call flows to identify, debug, and resolve issues. Isolate complex issues across multiple protocol layers and identify root causes using trace analysis tools. Work closely with cross-functional teams (development, systems, QA, and carriers) to drive testing activities and ensure product quality. Support GCF, PTCRB, and carrier certification testing efforts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field. 8+ years of hands-on testing experience with 5G/4G/3G cellular modem chipsets or UE devices. Strong understanding of 3GPP standards and carrier specifications for LTE and NR. Solid experience with protocol conformance, performance, and interoperability testing. Hands-on experience with certification and test equipment such as Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz.
