ELECTRONICS TEST TECHNICIAN
Location: In Office, Westlake Village, CA
Compensation: $78,000 to $105,000 base
Overview
- Support testing of prototype through production electronic systems
- Work directly with Lead Test Engineer and cross-functional hardware teams
- Execute and adapt test plans for electrical, mechanical, and thermal validation
- Focus on integrated system testing and reliability Responsibilities
- Execute test plans for electronic components, PCBs, and complete systems
- Modify test plans based on device under test conditions
- Design, set up, and modify test fixtures and automation systems
- Define test parameters to evaluate performance, durability, and safety
- Partner with electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineers on test execution
- Perform failure analysis and root cause identification
- Optimize automation to improve test efficiency and repeatability
- Perform electronics rework to support testing
- Update firmware on low-cost microcontrollers as needed
- Collect, interpret, and report device troubleshooting logs
- Create or modify simple automation scripts for testing
- Interpret applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Operate common lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, DAQ systems, thermal chambers, and battery simulators
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment
- Create clear test reports from collected data
- Gather test data from device interfaces and online tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of hands-on experience
- 3+ years experience in testing, validation, and analysis of electrical, mechanical, or thermal systems
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, DAQ systems, thermal chambers, and battery simulators
- Experience with failure analysis, root cause identification, and reliability testing
- Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and technical drawings
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for test automation and data analysis
- Knowledge of basic statistical analysis concepts
