Role & seniority: Production/Manufacturing Team Leader (managerial, first-line supervision). Reports to Test Operations Manager. Location: Richmond, VA; Electrification Smart Power Division. Full-time; primarily first shift with possible second/third shift coverage.

Stack/tools: Electrical equipment knowledge; SAP experience a plus; emphasis on production scheduling, test plans, procedures, drawings, quality and safety standards.

Top 3 responsibilities

  • Lead a production team to meet line targets, ensuring timely, cost-effective conversion of parts/raw materials into ABB products.

  • Ensure test scheduling and test plans align with demand, inventory service levels, and volumes; allocate resources accordingly.

  • Identify production deficiencies, propose and oversee improvement actions; coordinate with internal teams to resolve critical product or equipment issues.

Must-have skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or Associate/HS with 5+ years manufacturing experience) and 3+ years of manufacturing leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment; commitment to safety and continuous improvement; ability to develop and train teams.

  • Work authorization for the US.

Nice-to-haves

  • SAP experience; prior experience in electrical manufacturing environments.

  • Flexible to work multiple shifts for supervisory coverage.

This Position reports to

Test Operations Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently.

The work model for the role is

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power Division in Richmond, VA.

You will be mainly accountable for

Ensuring that test scheduling and test plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels. Recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary. Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance. Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.

Qualifications For The Role

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience or Associate degree or High School Diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience. Three (3) plus years of experience in leading teams in a manufacturing or electrical environment. Possess an enhanced knowledge of electrical equipment and the industry. Knowledge and experience with SAP is also considered a plus. You are passionate about safety, continuous improvement, training, and developing teams. This position is primarily assigned to first shift; however, flexibility is required to temporarily work second or third shift as needed to provide supervisory coverage. Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
