Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Test Lead with Banking Domain to lead the quality strategy and testing efforts for our engineering team. This is a solo role, requiring strong technical expertise, ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of automation, backend and API testing, CI/CD pipelines, and best‑in‑class quality practices.
Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end QA strategy, planning, execution, and reporting as the team’s sole QE. Define and implement automation frameworks using Java/Python/JavaScript/TypeScript with strong OOP design patterns. Build and maintain UI and API automation using Selenium, WebdriverIO, REST Assured, Karate, Postman/Newman. Conduct API and backend testing (Spring Boot/Java code understanding required). Manage test plans, test cases, test data, regression suites, and defect lifecycle (qTest, Digital.ai). Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure environment readiness. Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering to define quality standards and release criteria. Drive continuous improvement, track automation KPIs, and ensure high defect quality.
Required Qualifications Banking/Financial Services domain experience is a must.
Strong understanding of testing fundamentals: regression, integration, test planning, bug reporting. Ability to read and interpret Java and Spring Boot code. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.). Proven experience building and scaling automation across UI and API layers. Excellent communication and ability to lead quality discussions independently.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Experience in microservices testing. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Exposure to contract testing or CDC (e.g., Pact). Prior experience being the sole QE or establishing QA processes from scratch.
