Salary: C$80,000 - C$130,000 / year
Role & seniority: Automation Test Lead with 10+ years in Quality Engineering; hands-on leadership of testing across complex portfolios.
Stack/tools: Java, Selenium (core automation); test management tools (JIRA, JTMF or equivalent); CI/CD integrations (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions); familiarity with API testing (Nice-to-have); banking/financial systems domain preferred.
Develop and drive end-to-end test strategy, planning, and execution across functional, regression, integration, and release cycles; ensure coverage aligns with requirements.
Lead automation efforts, maintain and enhance frameworks, and integrate automated tests within CI/CD where applicable.
Coordinate testing across multiple teams, mentor testers, manage defect lifecycle, and report progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
10+ years in Quality Engineering/Software Testing; strong hands-on Java and Selenium automation.
Proven Test Lead/QE Lead experience across multiple systems; solid SDLC/STLC knowledge; defect management proficiency.

Position Description
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office at a minimum 3-4 days per week - subject to change at any time.
We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Selenium, coupled with solid QE experience and the ability to lead testing efforts across complex technology portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Test Strategy, Planning & Execution Develop and drive end-to-end test strategies for complex applications and multi-system environments. Lead test case creation, planning, prioritization, and execution across functional, regression, integration, and release testing cycles. Ensure comprehensive test coverage aligned with business and technical requirements. Oversee defect lifecycle management including logging, triaging, validation, and closure. Automation Leadership Lead automation efforts using Java + Selenium as core tools. Enhance and maintain automation frameworks to improve test efficiency and reliability. Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines where applicable. Identify automation opportunities and define automation roadmaps for the team. Team Coordination & Collaboration Coordinate testing across multiple teams and applications to ensure alignment. Guide and mentor team members, ensuring adherence to testing standards and best practices. Monitor daily testing progress and remove blockers to ensure timely delivery. Stakeholder Management Communicate test plans, execution progress, risks, and quality metrics to project leadership and business stakeholders. Influence decision-making and ensure testing insights are incorporated into release planning. Work closely with developers, product owners, architects, and business SMEs to ensure smooth delivery. Tools & Domain Expertise Utilize tools such as JIRA, JTMF (or equivalent), and automation frameworks. Preferred experience in banking/financial systems, with strong understanding of complex enterprise environments.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing. Strong hands-on experience in Java and Selenium automation (mandatory). Proven experience as a Test Lead or QE Lead managing end-to-end testing across multiple systems. Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing methodologies, and defect management processes. Experience with test management tools such as JIRA, JTMF, or similar. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills. Ability to lead testing in fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience in API testing (Postman, RestAssured). Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Experience in automation framework design. Domain knowledge in banking or financial services.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
