Top 3 responsibilities

Design and develop test mechanisms for PCB assemblies and high-level assemblies; create complete turnkey automated/semi-automated mechanical test solutions

Produce CAD packages for testers (assembly drawings, BOMs) and interface with vendors/machine shops to fabricate components

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and QA to ensure product compliance; resolve issues with customers; stay current on testing/manufacturing trends
Must-have skills

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)

8+ years in mechanical testing, product development, or related field

Experience designing electromechanical fixtures and PCBA/HLA fixturing

Proficient in SolidWorks (2D/3D)

Familiarity with automated test equipment methods and relevant industry standards

AutoCAD or similar CAD software; CNC setup/operation knowledge; PCBA layout software a plus

Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Mechanical Test Development Engineer located onsite in Austin, TX What a typical day looks like: Design and develop test mechanisms for printed circuit board assemblies and High Level Assemblies. Develop full turnkey Automated Test Equipment mechanical solutions using manual, semi-automated and automated mechanical techniques are required by the customer. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure product compliance with specifications and standards. Create a complete CAD package for testers including Assembly Drawings as required. Interface with vendors and machine shops to fabricate mechanical components. Create mechanical Bills of Material for designed equipment. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing technologies and manufacturing techniques. Work with CNC router to produce mechanical components. Research techniques for robust mechanical / electrical interfaces to a variety of connection types. Interface with customers to resolve issues related to product. Occasionally design / layout custom fixture interface boards. Work with electrical engineers on overall test strategy. The experience we’re looking to add to our team: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Must have experience designing electromechanical fixtures and mechanical mechanisms Must have PCBA or high level assembly fixturing experience Must have 8+ years of experience in mechanical testing, product development, or a related field. Previous experience with Solid Works creating both 2D and 3D designs required Familiarity with automated test equipment methods and techniques. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical testing (automotive, medical, aerospace) Experience with Auto CAD software (or similar) and simulation tools is a plus.
