Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Test Engineer with expertise in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of mainframe applications through comprehensive testing strategies, automation frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Manual Testing Analyze business requirements and functional specifications to identify test scenarios. Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for mainframe applications. Execute test cases for batch jobs, online transactions, and data validation. Perform defect logging, tracking, and retesting using tools like JIRA or ALM. Coordinate with development and environment teams for smooth test execution. Automation Testing Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for mainframe testing. Create and execute automated scripts for regression and functional testing. Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines and test management tools. Analyze automation results and prepare detailed reports. General Responsibilities Validate performance of batch jobs and optimize run times. Ensure compliance with organizational standards and security protocols. Identify process improvement and automation opportunities. Upskill in emerging technologies and leverage organizational certification programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Qualifications Required Skills: Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM). Experience with manual testing methodologies and defect management tools. Familiarity with tools like File-AID, CA7, and test management systems. Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies. Proficiency in automation scripting (Selenium, Python, or similar).
