What You’ll Do

Eaton India Innovation Center is seeking a V&V Lead Engineer to join our Controls & Protection Division! This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. This position is for leading V&V function on Power Component Division products under the $4 B Protection, Controls & Solution Division of Electrical Sector Americas. The primary role is to define test strategy, develop test plans, test scripts and procedures to test functionality of product and regulatory performance. We are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills in automation testing who will play a key role in verifying and validating the next-generation technology solutions that change how users connect, explore, and interact with information and devices.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Execution: Define, develop, and execute comprehensive verification and validation (V&V) plans for complex electrical products like Power Quality Meters, Breakers and more.

Automation Leadership: Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated test suites using Python or Java for functional, regression, and system-level testing using Hardware-in-loop testing.

Embedded Systems V&V: Perform hands-on validation of firmware and hardware designs using oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and debuggers.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, product management, and global teams (e.g., in Pune and Europe) to resolve issues.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure product compliance with safety standards (e.g., UL, IEC).

Leadership: Provide technical leadership in the engineering process, continuous improvements and mentor team members. The position also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical reviews and process improvements. Estimate work load, establish and maintain project schedules and monitor progress through the project execution phases Contribute to team’s technical growth by engaging in technical discussion and mentoring. Active communication with the cross functional team to ensure schedule, cost and performance alignment

Qualifications

B. E. / M.E / MTech Electronics / E&TC

• 10+ years of hands-on expertise in V&V of products using test automation involving embedded software and user interface
• Experience in testing of electrical domain products involving power quality testing, communication protocols like RS232, SPI, I2C, Modbus, CAN, and Ethernet etc.

Skills

Proficiency in automation script development using Python/Java/Selenium and experience with lab equipment Experience of testing industrial communication protocols BACnet, Modbus/IP, http, Modbus –TCP, DNP, BACnet IP, web sockets etc. Hands on in testing quality software applications. Proven experience in leading identifying test requirements from marketing and functional requirements. Ability to create traceability of test requirements from functional and marketing requirements. Experience in working with Agile Scrum and using tools like JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr. Experience in working in global environment with proven cross-functional collaboration Experience with 2 to 3 product launches as V&V leader" Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in a global team environment. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and quality.
