The Role As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will be a key player in our agile software development teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality for our products by designing, developing, and maintaining our test automation frameworks. Your expertise will not only detect issues but also prevent them, contributing directly to our CI/CD pipeline and overall development excellence.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks and scripts. Take full ownership of test case design, hands-on test execution, and comprehensive defect reporting. Perform code reviews for test automation scripts and provide constructive feedback to fellow team members. Integrate automated tests seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). Champion BDD concepts and collaborate with developers and product owners using tools like Cucumber. Triage and debug test failures, applying your strong technical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes. Act as a quality advocate within your team, promoting best practices in software testing and automation. Work closely with cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA/Test Engineering within agile software teams.
Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript and its testing ecosystem.
UI Automation: Proven experience with at least one major UI test framework: Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
API Testing: Proven experience with API test tools like Postman, RestAssured, Karate, or similar.
BDD: Strong understanding of BDD concepts and hands-on experience with Cucumber or a similar tool.
Databases: Proficiency in SQL is required.
Certifications: ISTQB Foundation Level certificate or equivalent knowledge is essential.
Nice to Have (Bonus Points) Familiarity with NoSQL databases. Experience with Docker; knowledge of Kubernetes and basic bash scripting is a plus. Experience with load and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust) and application monitoring tools. ISTQB Advanced Level certificate.
