The Core Systems Engineer – Automation & Platform Engineering is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated infrastructure solutions in a highly available, production environment. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency, reliability, and monitoring through scripting, automation, and modern infrastructure practices. This is a remote position supporting a global environment.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for infrastructure and operations Create and modify scripts using Python, PowerShell, and Ansible Apply Infrastructure as Code principles to system configuration and deployment Maintain and enhance monitoring and alerting platforms (Grafana, Zabbix) Integrate systems using APIs (REST, JSON, YAML) Support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V Troubleshoot complex system and performance issues in production environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects and improvements Maintain source control using Git and contribute to CI/CD pipelines where applicable Document systems, processes, and automation workflows
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong experience with Linux and Windows Server administration Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell required; Python or Ansible preferred) Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V) Experience supporting production infrastructure environments Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWX, Kubernetes, or Docker Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) Experience with advanced monitoring platforms (VictoriaMetrics, Telegraf) Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
