This internship at Toyota Motor Europe focuses on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) simulation and validation of automotive electronic systems. You will support the evaluation of PCBs and vehicle systems through EMC simulations and hands-on testing in EMC chambers, both on benches and vehicles. By comparing simulation tools and validating results against real measurements, you’ll contribute to defining robust vehicle specifications and countermeasures, gaining practical experience in EMC theory, advanced simulation software, and automotive electronics testing.

Your team and your responsibilities
Team/division description
Within the Electronics Engineering Division, the Electronics Evaluation team is responsible for
Evaluating electronics across the entire vehicle.
Conducting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests for both vehicles and test benches.
Performing Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) evaluations at the system and vehicle levels, conducting EUNCAP tests.
Our findings are incorporated into vehicle specifications or evaluation criteria. Our objective is to establish competitive performance targets that align with the needs and expectations of the EU market. To achieve this, we utilize our evaluation skills, including precise measurement capabilities, to identify performance gaps through objective assessments and propose appropriate Counter Measures (C/M) and/or system specification adjustments.

You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
You have knowledge of EMC theory
You have experience in EMC or antenna software simulation. i.e. Ansys HFSS, CST Studio, and others
Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
