About the Role SoftEye is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead test strategy, automation, and validation of our firmware and SDK components. You will work cross-functionally with embedded, firmware, and SDK teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and release readiness. This role requires strong technical ownership, experience with automated frameworks, and the ability to drive improvements across QA processes.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and improve automated test frameworks for firmware and SDK validation
Design comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, integration, performance, load, and stress testing
Create automated test cases and supporting utilities or tools to increase test efficiency
Collaborate closely with embedded, firmware, and SDK development teams to understand system architecture and identify test gaps
Debug and analyze failures, perform root-cause investigations, and drive defect resolution
Develop and maintain test environments, including CI/CD-based automated test pipelines
Assess system readiness for release by evaluating quality metrics, test results, and risk levels
Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, automation coverage, and test methodologies
Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance on test design and automation best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
3+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, preferably in embedded systems or firmware/SDK testing
Strong scripting skills in Python or comparable languages for automation development
Experience designing or maintaining automated test frameworks
Solid understanding of embedded systems, firmware behavior, and SDK-level interactions
Working knowledge of Linux-based development or test environments
Experience with CI/CD tools and automation workflows
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills in English and ability to collaborate with global teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience validating APIs, SDKs, or cross-platform environments
Hands-on experience with version control tools such as Git
Experience using issue-tracking systems such as Jira
Familiarity with hardware interaction, device communication, or embedded build systems
Prior mentoring or leadership experience within QA teams
