Full Description

The Central Testing Management Head will establish, lead and manage a Central Testing Facility (CTF) to standardise and optimise testing processes across the organisation. This individual will play a key role in transitioning to an independent, centralised testing framework, ensuring high-quality software delivery, reduced defects and improved system resiliency. The position requires close coordination with developers, project managers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, defect-free software while optimising resources and timelines.

Test Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, cases and scripts that align with project and organisational goals.
  • Define and communicate testing standards, methodologies and best practices.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage and lead a team of testers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability.
  • Provide training, mentoring and coaching to testers to enhance their technical and professional skills.
  • Optimise resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of tools, infrastructure and personnel.

Test Execution and Reporting

  • Oversee the execution of testing processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Track and monitor key testing metrics, including code coverage, defect density and testing progress.
  • Ensure all issues and defects are promptly reported, tracked and resolved.
  • Provide detailed and actionable reports to stakeholders, summarising test outcomes and insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

  • Coordinate with project managers, developers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of testing efforts with project requirements.
  • Maintain clear and open lines of communication with all stakeholders, delivering regular updates on testing progress, challenges and risks.

Risk Management and QA/QC

  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks related to testing processes and product quality.
  • Implement robust Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) frameworks to ensure adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Drive a proactive approach to defect prevention and resolution.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Analyse existing testing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement enhanced testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements and adjust strategies as needed.

Collaboration with External Partners

  • Manage relationships with vendors and external testing providers to augment in-house testing capabilities.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party testing tools and services to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Technology Adoption and Automation

  • Drive the adoption of automation tools to enhance testing efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and testing trends to integrate innovative solutions.

Governance and Compliance

  • Establish testing governance frameworks to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements related to software quality.

Job Requirements

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with at least 1-3 years in a Head Test CoE role. Proven track record of establishing and managing centralised testing teams in large-scale organisations. Preferred with banking experience.

Certifications (Optional): ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager or equivalent / Certifications in Agile, DevOps or related methodologies. Knowledge in testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner) and frameworks. Strong knowledge of test automation, performance testing and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills. Analytical mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency and innovation.
